Grant & Development Consultant

The Consortium of Asian American Theaters and Artists (CAATA) is seeking a part-time Grant & Development Consultant to support the organization’s strategic growth, fundraising efforts, and long-term sustainability. This consultant will help build CAATA’s development infrastructure, strengthen funding relationships, and identify new opportunities aligned with our mission to uplift and amplify Asian American, Pan Asian, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, SWANA (South West Asian and North African), and mixed-race theater communities.

CAATA is in an exciting period of growth and transformation. As we move forward in our strategic planning process, we are seeking a collaborative, equity-rooted development professional who can guide and support fundraising efforts that align with the evolving vision and values of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and track potential funding opportunities from arts, culture, equity, and justice-focused foundations and philanthropic partners;

  • Draft and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), reports, and supporting documentation in collaboration with CAATA staff and board;

  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar including deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal timelines;

  • Develop and implement a funder cultivation and stewardship strategy, including relationship building and impact storytelling;

  • Support the creation of internal development systems and databases to track donors, grant submissions, and income.

  • Assist in drafting compelling donor materials such as thank-you letters, annual giving appeals, and reports;

  • Collaborate with CAATA’s communications and leadership team to align messaging across all fundraising materials

  • Participate in strategic planning conversations to ensure development aligns with organizational vision and future goals.

  • Attend virtual meetings and work remotely in close partnership with CAATA’s General Manager and Board of Directors.

Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Proven experience with nonprofit grant writing and fundraising, particularly in service organizations, the arts, cultural, or justice-based sectors;

  • Exceptional writing and organizational skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines;

  • Familiarity with funder databases, grant platforms, and donor tracking tools

  • Experience creating systems and workflows for emerging or grassroots organizations;

  • A strong understanding of racial equity, cultural organizing, and AANHPI, SWANA, and Mixed communities;

  • A collaborative spirit, strategic mind, and deep belief in theater as tools for justice.

Contract Timeline:

July 2025 – May 2026, with the possibility of extension

Compensation:

$10,000- $15,000 based on experience and scope of work

Work Environment:

This is a remote contract position. CAATA operates virtually with team members across the country. Occasional travel may be requested for future in-person events or convenings (separate compensation provided).
