Over the past few years, CAATA has been proud to bring communities together virtually through our online series. In 2020, Return to the Source offered a space to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate our shared roots. In 2021, Healing Over Hate created conversations and practices aimed at cultivating understanding, resilience, and community care. In 2026, our series Legacy. Resistance. Evolution. honors CAATA’s 20th year milestone by celebrating our founders, showcasing the brilliance of current members, and engaging in conversations that build a stronger future for AANHPI/SWANA/MENA and Mixed Race theater. These series reflect CAATA’s ongoing commitment to fostering connection, dialogue, and artistic expression even from a distance.

In 2026, Legacy. Resistance. Evolution continues CAATA’s legacy of virtual engagement as we honor our 20 year milestone. This series uplifts the founders, celebrates current members, and highlights bold new works shaping the future of AANHPI/SWANA/MENA and Mixed Race theater. Threads of Legacy: Founders & Former Leaders Conversation

A conversation honoring CAATA’s origin story and evolution. Join us to reflect on the vision, leadership, and impact of those who shaped the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander theater community, and explore how their legacy continues to inspire today’s artists.

An online conversation in partnership with artEquity, that is connecting art service organizations and leadership who have shaped the arts ecosystem. This panel will explore how communities are embedding solidarity into daily practice and sustaining collective action.

Healing Over Hate (2021)

Healing Over Hate launched in 2021 as a platform to explore dialogue, understanding, and resilience in challenging times. Through conversations, workshops, and artistic practices, the series provided tools for emotional care, community building, and creative expression, affirming CAATA’s commitment to nurturing both individual artists and the larger AANHPI/ SWANA/MENA/ and Mixed Race theater community.



Return to the Source (2020)

In 2020, Return to the Source created a digital space for connection and reflection during a time of isolation. This series celebrated the cultural, artistic, and personal roots of AANHPI/ SWANA/MENA/ and Mixed Race theater, bringing together artists and audiences to share stories, practices, and reflections that strengthened our sense of community and belonging.
