Regional Gatherings: Honoring Our Community

CAATA’s Regional Gatherings are in-person events held across key cities to honor the founders, celebrate our members, and strengthen local ties within our national network. These gatherings are guided by CAATA board members and staff that take place in cities where CAATA’s roots run deep. Each event provides opportunities for connection, dialogue, celebration, and collaboration within the AANHPI, SWANA, MENA, and Mixed Race theater community.

What to Expect at a Regional Gathering

Each gathering features a mix of social, artistic, and professional programming:

  • Local “CAATA Night” – celebrate local AANHPI, SWANA, MENA, and Mixed Race productions and create shared experiences with your community

  • Artist Mixers or Showcases – highlight local talent through performances, cabaret, or short works

  • Fireside Chats & Panels – engage in conversation with local leaders about careers, challenges, and the future of AANHPI, SWANA, MENA, and Mixed Race theater

  • Collective Meals – deepen connections over food and conversation

  • Visibility & Donor Engagement Touchpoints – highlight the work of CAATA and its members to partners and supporters

So You Want to Organize a CAATA Regional Meet-Up or Have an Idea for a Gathering in Your Area?

CAATA’s mission is to advance the field of AANHPI, SWANA, MENA, and Mixed Race theater through a national network of artists and organizations. Regional meet-ups serve as vital spaces for connection, collaboration, and celebration of the field. If you have an idea for a meet-up in your city, we’d love to hear it!

What We’re Looking For:

  • Events that connect local artists, organizations, and allies

  • Gatherings that showcase members, celebrate community, or provide networking opportunities

  • Activities like CAATA Night at a Show, panels, networking mixers, or artist showcases

Support We Provide:

  • Virtual guidance: Zoom check-ins, templates, outreach support

  • In-person guidance: Event planning advice, materials, and funding support

  • Connections to local partners and CAATA members
